Why did this game using Kickstarter? Isn't Activision a large company?

This is an officially licensed game being produced by Arcane Wonders. Activision has been a wonderful partner allowing us to play and create in their world. At the end of the day this our experience we are bringing to gamers and we feel that Kickstarter is the best way for us to be able to bring the best version of this game to the world. This is fairly common for board games to use crowdfunding to come to life as we are much smaller companies especially when licensing a large IP such as Call of Duty. For a company of our size a project of this scope just wouldn't be possible for us without sacrifices to the final product that we feel wouldn't be fair to our vision of what CoD players and board gamers deserve.

Who is Arcane Wonders?

Arcane Wonders is a board game publisher first created in 2012 starting with the game Mage Wars. Since then we have published games such as Onitama, Furnace, Aquatica, RWBY: Combat Ready and this hit game on Kickstarter Foundations of Rome. Will this game be available later in retail?

Yes! We will release the game in retail after our Kickstarter backers have received their copies. This will not
be the Collector's Edition however and will start with a core 2 player experience that can be expanded later.

Note that some components may differ in construction between the Kickstarter and Retail versions,

but remain fully compatible with each other.
